Location: Omaha, NE (role open in Crete or Lincoln, NE as an alternative to Omaha)
Pay: : $75k (+ bonus potential + annual merit increases)
Schedule: Onsite Daily

Summary:
Research & Development Technologist leading cost-optimization projects through advanced formulation and processing improvements, while developing innovative prototypes that enhance product quality and performance.

What you get to do:

• Lead product development from concept through commercialization, including new products and line extensions.
• Conduct pilot plant and production trials to refine formulations and improve product quality. Develop and adjust formulations using online systems and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally 
• Provide clear project updates and support R&D efforts with prototype development.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations while maintaining detailed project files, specifications, and product data.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field plus 2+ years of meat processing plant experience; OR Master’s degree in a related field in lieu of experience (internship or lab experience may be considered)
• Strong knowledge of meat and ingredient functionality
