Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to work in a dual capacity, also supporting clinical operations as a Medical Assistant, for our client, a well-established, high-volume family medicine group with multiple locations in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
This is a direct-hire opportunity — our client is known as one of the highest-rated primary care practices in the region, offering a wide range of healthcare services including in-house diagnostic testing.
This role is approximately 30% X-Ray work and 70% Medical Assistant work. The practice typically schedules 4-10 X-Rays per day, with the remainder of your time spent supporting clinical workflow and working alongside the practice's other Medical Assistants.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Radiology Duties (~20-30% of role, 4-10 X-Rays/day)
- Imaging Procedures: Perform routine x-ray examinations following established radiology protocol.
- Patient Care & Education: Guide patients through imaging procedures, explaining the process to reduce anxiety and ensure comfort and safety.
- Radiation Safety: Apply ALARA radiation protection principles through accurate patient positioning and proper use of protective equipment (e.g., lead shields).
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment.
Medical Assistant Duties (~70-80% of role)
- Room patients, take vital signs, and document patient history
- Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider (within scope)
- Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR
- Restock and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Support and collaborate with the practice's other Medical Assistants to keep clinical workflow running smoothly
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
- ARRT certification
- Active Georgia state licensure
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred, or equivalent hands-on MA experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Prior experience in an ambulatory or family practice setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Technical judgment for assessing image quality
- Comfortable cross-functioning between imaging and clinical support duties
- Physical stamina for standing and assisting with patient movement
Pay: $38.00 – $41.00 per hour
