Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist, Legal
Location: Cleveland, OH
Salary: $60k-$77k

Our client, a highly respected law firm, is seeking an Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to join its accounting team in Cleveland. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment supporting accounts receivable, collections, and financial operations.

What you'll be doing:
• Perform credit reviews and assist with client intake approvals
• Monitor work-in-progress and accounts receivable activity while maintaining reporting and tracking processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding aging receivables and client-specific action plans
• Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances through phone and email outreach
• Document collection activities and follow-up efforts within the accounting system
• Process discounted accounts receivable transactions in accordance with company policies
• Generate monthly AR statements and client correspondence related to collections activity
• Serve as a primary point of contact for accounts receivable inquiries
• Provide status updates and reporting to leadership regarding receivables and collections efforts
• Research and resolve unapplied payments and account discrepancies
• Assist with trust account reviews and refund processing
• Support process improvements and maintain efficient workflows across accounting operations

What you'll need:
• Minimum of 2 years of collections, accounts receivable, or related financial operations experience
• Professional services or law firm experience strongly preferred
• Experience with collections, accounting, or ERP software preferred
• Experience with legal billing or financial management systems such as Aderant strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation, communication, and client service skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment
