Our client, a growing and well-respected commercial construction firm in the Charlotte market, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team. This full-time, direct hire opportunity is perfect for a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent looking to take the next step in their career and transition into a Superintendent role. This position offers the opportunity to leverage hands-on field experience while growing into a larger leadership role overseeing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
The ideal candidate has experience managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, reading plans, and maintaining jobsite productivity. This role will support interior upfit and light commercial projects while working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and ownership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Position Overview
The Superintendent will oversee daily field operations, ensuring projects are executed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This individual will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing site activities, maintaining project timelines, and serving as the primary field leader throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily jobsite operations for interior upfit and light commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure project progress and efficiency.
- Manage project sequencing and assist with maintaining construction schedules.
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure work is completed accurately.
- Monitor jobsite safety, quality control, and overall project performance.
- Conduct daily site walks and communicate progress, challenges, and updates with project leadership.
- Identify potential issues and proactively develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.
- Maintain organized project documentation, reports, and field records.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to field personnel.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support successful project completion.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
- Experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
- Interior upfit and/or light commercial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented mindset.
- Reliable transportation required.
